VCA BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS
(MUSIC THEATRE) DEGREE

programme in the principal disciplines, or "triple-threat", of singing, acting and dance.
Students apply these skills in fully staged shows in the latter stages of their training are exposed to producers, directors and agents as they progress towards graduation.
The course offers significant industry contact and mentoring through workshops and master-classes,
an Artist-in-Residence Programme and the breadth of professional performing artists teaching in the programme.
Music Theatre at the VCA provides some of the finest professional practitioners, teachers and facilities
for intensive training in the three core disciplines of Music Theatre. It is directed towards educating and training students to become professional artists of excellence and international standard.
Students graduate with all the skills required for a successful career in Music Theatre and become sufficiently flexible to contribute to the changing needs of the artistic community. They will be creative leaders who can generate, develop and perform new work.
"After years as enthusiastic audience members of music theatre, nothing could have given our lives greater fulfilment than being able to contribute to the education of the wonderfully
talented students at the VCA and, as a consequence, to the continuation of the fine tradition
of the performing arts in Victoria"....Margaret Dobell
"Our experience with the students has proved to us that to have someone not only provide financial assistance but also take an interest in their aspirations makes a difference. We get to know the students, the teachers and the team and we are engaged in the process and champion
it. It's not just about giving money, its about caring and devoting time and emotions and becoming their greatest advocates".... Ron Dobell
